Inspiration

Inspiration is Lacking

The inspiration is the hard part.  Often times, I look at my life, and I'm daydreaming about being financially independent or retiring early.  I look to early retirement blogs for inspiration but the day to day achieving my goals is difficult.  Do I really, really care about this free toothpaste?  Do I really want to dig in this Goodwill Outlet bin one more time?  I feel like the my life as an American is so surrounded by consumerism that by focusing on the minor details of consumerism, maybe I'm doing it all wrong.  I'm trying to find the balance in early retirement extreme and not becoming obsessive about every single penny.  It's really hard!

Free Things

The Free Things I Did Today:

1.) I picked up a free toothbrush with my $1 off coupon at The Dollar Tree.  I am that crazy coupon lady!  I walked in with my 2 large coupon binders.  I'm mouse-like and introverted, and I feel people noticing my large coupon binders.  However, I get in this I don't really care attitude when it comes to couponing. I didn't see anything else matchup with my coupons, so I walked out with only a free toothbrush.

2.) I then picked up my free bagel for the day.  At Panera Bread, I have a free bagel every day in the month of September.

3.) I canceled the $400 order at Home Depot.  I finally convinced DH to install our interior door for 1/4 of the $400.  I already paid for the install and door, so I had everything put back onto my credit card.

4.) I posted free diapers on my local Buy Nothing Group.

The real purpose of my trip was to get money back from Home Depot, but I ended up with a couple on the way stops for some free scores.

Free Plans:

1.) My town has a new grocery store in the area.  As a part of a promotional Grand Opening, the store is giving away a free bag of groceries to the first 250 people.  I am so very excited.

2.) Consigning some clothes.
